Prior to her time in Chambers, she spent many years in higher education, leading teams of Admissions Advisors to help students realize their goals of a higher education. In 2017, Deidre was recognized as a "Best Under 40" recipient in McHenry County for her work throughout the business community and as well as her volunteer efforts. Recently engaged, Deidre and fiancé’ Samuel Melei expect to be married later this year (August 2021) and share six children between them, ages 24, 20, 17, 17, 14, and 11. Deidre is an active member of Sheboygan Rotary, Economic Club of Sheboygan, Inspire Sheboygan County Board of Directors, Vice President of the Board for United Way Sheboygan County and recently joined the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run Northeast Wisconsin. Previously, Deidre coached elementary school girls with Girls on the Run Northwest Illinois, was a lunch buddy for Big Brothers Big Sisters and served on the Crystal Lake Food Pantry Board as well as served in the food pantry regularly. After retiring from her legal practice, Mary Lynne finished a master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies, with a research focus on attitudes of low-income women about voting. Right now, Mary Lynne works hard to get progressive people to run for political office, and helps campaigns along the way.
